Danny Fenton spent 5 years at the BBC first in the Youth, Entertainment & Features department in Manchester and then in the Features department in London where he worked on a number of award winning shows including ‘Standing Room Only’, ‘Clash of the Titans’, ‘Match of the 70’s’.
After spending a brief time in the independent sector working with the likes of Chrysalis, Sunset & Vine, Wall to Wall he then set up Zig Zag in 1999 with his business partner Kevin Utton.
Zig Zag have produced over 300 hours of programming both UK and internationally and their programmes have ranged from successful entertainment formats like ‘Change the Day you Die’, ‘Find Me a Family’ and ‘Bad Boy Racers’ through to award winning factual programming such as ‘Little Prince – Big Fight’, ‘Hypno Surgery Live & ‘Celebrity Gladiators’.
As well as being C.E.O of Zig Zag Danny has overseen the launch of Zig Zag offices in New York, Manchester and he Executive Produces all Zig Zag content. He is also the founder of NIPA (New Independent Producers Alliance).
Danny is a regular speaker at the following conferences:- Sheffield Documentary Festival, EBU Factual Entertainment Conference, Realscreen, The Format Convention. As an experienced judge Danny is often asked to judge Broadcast, RTS and Bafta award ceremonies.
