New Reality Show Has ‘Ultimate Goal’ Of Increasing Participation In Women’s Soccer

25 Nov 2020

“For all the girls, coming away from that show it was like being at therapy” explains Georgia Stevens. “To just be able to share and talk about their stories. We all related to everything that we spoke about because we’ve been through it ourselves and we thought nobody else had. Everyone has come away from it with a new respect for women’s football”.

Starting today, BT Sport, in collaboration with Insight TV in the United States, will premiere a new six-part reality series, Ultimate Goal, in which 31 women train and live as professional soccer players hoping to make it through to play a showcase match in front of agents and scouts.

Former England stars Eni Aluko and Rachel Brown-Finnis forged the contestants into a team, assisted by former players Mollie and Rosie Kmita building on BT’s commitment to inspire a new generation of girls and women to participate in the game. The applicants were interviewed after responding to an advertisement on social media and had varying levels of experience in the game.
