After working at various Indies Dan joined  Zig Zag productions in 2003.  He went on to spend 5 years working on specialist factual programmes first as an Assistant Producer and later as a P.D.  In 2007 Dan moved into the development department as a producer, helping to develop a range of programmes from game shows to scientific documentaries.  In February 2010 Dan became Development Executive giving him  responsibility for the day to day running of the development department and overseeing the origination of a raft of new ideas.
