Nordic World, the pan regional programme sales company, is hosting a formats pitching event in Denmark this week and has secured Zig Zag’s Danny Fenton as part of its jury.
The company, which was originally set up by TV2 Norway and TV4 Sweden and also includes Norway’s NRK, Denmark’s TV2, Estonia’s K2 and YLE and MTV3 from Finland, is hosting the Nordic World Pitch on August 22 and 23 in Elsinore in Denmark. It will see 16 new formats producers from the region pitch to a jury of international producers, distributors and commissioning editors.
Formats companies pitching at the event include MediaCircus and Monkberry from Norway; Acne TV and Art89 from Sweden; Yellow Film & TV, Intervisio, Aito Media, MatilRöhrNordisk and Tarinatalo from Finland; and Koncern Film & TV, Babyfoot, Freeport and Deluca from Denmark.
Nordic World chief operating officer and director of sales Jan Salling said: “Zig Zag, as an independent UK producer shares many of the creative and commercial challenges confronting our Nordic independent producers. We believe there is much to be gained by strengthening the relationships between UK and Nordic indies in terms of activating format sales and presenting a united front in an increasingly consolidated and competitive market.”
